About Us
Since beginning our journey in 1993, Bookworm has sought to enrich the lives of children by bringing them wonderful literature. Through our bookfairs, we have hoped to:
-
Introduce children to the classics and other high quality literature.
-
Provide books that expand children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
-
Encourage and sustain a great love of reading among children.
To accomplish these goals, we read thousands of books each year from across a wide range of publishers, selecting only the best. We look for books that will captivate children's minds and imaginations, while steering away from low quality, popular titles that may sell well but provide limited benefit to children.
Our bookfairs allow us the forum through which we can share these wonderful books with children and their families. We thrive on our relationships with likeminded librarians, teachers, and parents and value our special partnership with schools. We want to help make each bookfair a unique experience, bringing a school community together to celebrate reading, learning and growing.
With fifteen years of experience and expertise behind us, we are now expanding our services to include a Virtual Bookfair. This fundraiser will allow our customers to view and purchase hand-picked books, educational games and learning resources all year round. In addition to our Virtual Bookfair, we are also expanding our services to include specialty fairs and direct bulk purchases through our warehouse and web site. We hope that our new endeavors will complement our onsite bookfairs, enabling us to serve children and their learning needs more comprehensively. And, as we extend the scope of our work, we remain dedicated to personal, prompt and caring customer service.
Today, Bookworm works with over 200 schools in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, serving them from our Manassas, Virginia warehouse.
In all that we do, we work diligently to live up to our motto of
"Growing Fine Minds".
