What is the Recommended Reading online option?

As part of Bookworm Central’s Virtual Bookfair, we take customization to a higher level by allowing schools to post their selected books and materials online so that their community members may easily find, view and purchase titles for specific programs or classes.  The school will earn proceeds for every purchase while your community members have an opportunity to do one-stop shopping.

What is our thinking behind providing this online facility?

Bookworm Central recognizes and places great emphasis on customization of fairs whether they are onsite or virtual.  The Recommended Reading option gives schools an opportunity to highlight books that would work for their community members.  We hope that this service will promote a school/community partnership encouraging children to read deeply and steer away from low quality and commercial titles. 

Who would find our Recommended Reading option useful?

Any school, librarian or teacher that wishes to get specific/quality books in the hands of children for special programs, classes, clubs or reading groups should participate and avail themselves of this opportunity.

Why sponsor/promote our online Recommended Reading option? 

Parents are constantly looking for guidance in selecting age-appropriate reading materials as well as assistance with finding titles that they are required to purchase for special programs and classes.  Our online Recommended Reading option allows schools to not just share great reading choices, but provide easy accessibility to titles that they require.  All this may be accomplished while every sale earns funds for the school.

When can the Recommended Reading option be offered?

This option can be left open all year round for the community to view the school, librarian, or teacher selections.  Or you may choose to open it only to promote a summer reading program, a special event and/or class. You decide – open it to your community for a week, a month or a year.

Where can your community access the Recommended Reading offering?

Your community members can utilize the Recommended Reading option from home, school or the workplace.  When you enroll for a Virtual bookfair with us you may choose to activate your recommended reading option and share your specific selections with us so that we may post them for viewing and purchase.  Your community will then have access any place, any time on a computer with internet access.

How can you schedule and coordinate an online Recommended Reading program?

Sponsoring an online Recommended Reading program is as easy as 1-2-3 –

1.     Enroll your organization and assign a coordinator;

2.     Share your offerings so that we may verify availability, pricing and load them on your school page;

3.     Promote the event to your community members, family, friends, co-workers and business partners.
